Blick von Mount Faber auf die Insel Sentosa: im wesentlichen ein Vergnügungspark (mit Madame Tussaud, Universal Studio Park und Pi-Pa-Po). Nicht unser Ding, auch wenn die Strände und das Kokoseis dort ganz nett sind. Das Beste ist die Seilbahn, wegen der guten Aussicht.

Das schlechte Wetter bleibt uns treu: bis zum Nachmittag baut sich ein Gewitter auf und hängt zwischen den Wolkenkratzern ab.
The bad weather stays with us: until afternoon a little lightning storm builds up and hangs around the skyscrapers.

Am nächsten Morgen zeigt der Blick aus unserem Hotelzimmer einen sehr viel blaueren Himmel.
The next morning the view from our hotel room shows a sky far more blue.

Wir spazieren durch den botanischen Garten, in dem man mehr als einen Tag verbringen könnte. Die Schildkröte in der unmöglichen Pose ist echt! Sie hat sich bewegt (im Gegensatz zu einer gewissen Schlange in Darwins botanischem Garten).
We walk through the botanical garden, where one could spend more than one day. This turtle in the impossible pose is real! It has moved (in contrary to a certain snake in Darwin's botanical garden).

Auch Eichhörnchen gibt's .. sie sehen aber etwas anders aus, als unsere. Diese hier haben wir in einem Teil ursprünglichen Regenwald gefunden. Toll ist auch der Evolution Garden, wo man eine Zeitreise durch's Pflanzenreich machen kann.
Squirrels are there also .. they look different from the European ones. We found this here in an area with original rain forest. Great is also the Evolution Garden, where you can do a time journey through plant history.

Ein weiteres Highlight ist der National Orchid Garden. Die 5 Dollar Eintritt ist er mehr als wert! Aus dem Gucken und Fotografieren kommt man dort nicht raus.
Another highligh is the National Orchid Garden. It is more worth than the 5 dollars entry fee! You cannot stop to look and take fotos there.

Von den Gardens in the Bay haben wir nur die abendliche Lightshow der Supertrees gesehen. Die echten Orchideen und den botanischen Garten insgesamt fanden wir aber beeindruckender.
Of the Gardens in the Bay we just saw the light show of the super trees in the evening. But we found the real orchids and the botanical garden in general more impressing.

Auch historische Häser gibt es - hier Häuser im Peranakan-Stil in der Emerald Hill Road. Um 1900 (und etwas später gebaut und mit schönen Details und Schnitzereien. Die umliegenden Einkaufsmalls streifen wir nur kurz.
Also historic buildings are existing - here the houses in Peranakan style in Emerald Hill Road. Build around 1900 (and a bit later) and with beautiful details and wooden carvings. We just have a short look at the shopping malls nearby.
