Blue Mountains (17.- 19.Nov.)

	At the evening of the 17th we reach the Blue Mountains along a small mountain highway going from Colo to Lithgow. On the way we find a sign for a lookout (The Walls) that needs a small hike (1.2km one-way). The path is a bit wilder and the km a bit longer than expected ... --- Am Abend des 17ten erreichen wir über eine kleine Bergstraße von Colo nach Lithgow die Blue Mountains. Am Weg finden wir ein Hinweisschild auf einen Aussichtspunkt (The WAlls), bis zu dem man eine kleine Wanderung (1,2 km hin und selbe Strecke zurück) machen kann. Der Weg erweist sich als etwas wilder und der Kilometer als etwas länger als erwartet ...
... and it is spotted with beautiful blossoms of all kinds. --- ... und er ist gespickt mit Blüten aller Art.
	At the end a grandious view over the valley to the sandstone walls on the other side opens up - and there are no fences. --- Am Ende öffnet sich ein grandioser Blick über das Tal hinüber zu den steilen Sandsteinwänden auf der anderen Seite - und es gibt überhaupt keine Zäune!
For night we find a small campground at the shores of Lake Lyell near Lithgow. This picture shows the lake next morning while leaving. --- Für die Nacht finden wir einen kleinen Campingplatz an den Ufern des Lake Lyell bei Lithgow. Das Bild zeigt den See am nächsten Morgen als wir wieder losfahren.
	Lithgow itself has a nice old city main street. Many buildings say they were build 1901. --- Lithgow selbst hat eine nette kleine Altstadt-Hauptstraße. Viele Gebäude tragen das Datum 1901 im Giebel.
A famous attraction of the region are Jenolan Caves, a quite elaborate cave system - including a drive-through-cave :) They offer multiple tours to different chambers of the system and you could spend a week and a fortune just walking caves. We arrive at the afternoon and find no tour left that sounds interesting. So we just walk around the open cave parts at the beginning (nice too). --- Eine berühmte Attraktion der Region sind die Jenolan Caves, ein sehr ausgedehntes Höhlensystem inklusive einer Drive-Trough-Höhle :) Es gibt Touren zu den verschiedenen Höhlenkammern und man könnte eine Woche damit verbringen, die Höhlen zu erkunden und ein Vermögen dafür auszugeben. Wir kamen am Nachmittag an und fanden keine wirklich spannende Tour mehr. Also sind wir nur die äußeren frei zugänglichen Teile abgelaufen, was aber auch nett war.
	This is a skink, another reptile we did not see before! --- Das ist ein Skink, noch eine Sorte Reptil, die wir noch nicht kannten!

	An Ant-Highway follows the cliff ;-) From picnic area Wentworth Falls many nice hikes are possible, even down to into the river valley. --- Eine Ameisenstraße zieht sich am Steilhang entlang ;-) Vom Picknickplatz Wentworth Falls kann man sehr viele schöne Wanderungen bis runter zum Fluss machen.
But we do not like the wheather - really cold spotty rain all 15 minutes. From the lookout one can see the next ones coming up the valley. --- Aber wir mögen das Wetter nicht - echt kalte Schauer alle 15 Minuten. Vom Aussichtspunkt kann man die nächsten das Tal hochkommen sehen.
